ARTIST STATEMENT
I find the force and beauty of the creative process to be compelling. It is vital to my existence. While creating a mixed-media painting, my intuition intermingles with my intellect. Spirit and intuition guide while my hands mindfully follow. The process articulates a procedure that is equally additive and subtractive as it reaches for completion and authenticity. I utilize acrylic paint and hand-textured acrylic reliefs, along with subsequent layers of hand-made papers, Caran D Ache, calligraphic markings, my photography, altered mass-media and acrylic glazes. I often incorporate organic matter as well as reclaimed metals and found objects into my works.
